Belt color sorter sorting technology and equipment
Color sorter identifies the raw materials according to the difference in the color, texture structure and light reflectivity of the ore surface, and generally uses a pneumatic method to remove them. The application of colour sorter in mineral processing is mainly through the high-definition camera pictures taken down the mineral surface analysis, accurate detection of ore surface color, lustre and texture and other differences, to achieve the color separation of ore and throw waste.
Difference between belt color sorter and chute color sorter
In a chute sorter, the material is dropped down an inclined chute (inclined at an angle of approximately 60 degrees) to the identification and rejection area (using GroTech machine as a reference, the raw material can move at a speed of 3.5m/s - 7.5m/s). From entering the recognition area to leaving the rejection area, the time left for the system to recognize and reject for raw materials is about 2milliseconds -7milliseconds (depending on the type of raw material and the length of the chute). This time is essentially fixed for the chute sorter, which makes it difficult for the chute sorter to effectively process some of the bulkier materials.
In the case of the belt sorter, the raw material is fed evenly to the belt by means of a vibrator and the material is transported horizontally at a constant speed to the identification and rejection area, which can be adjusted by setting the conveyor speed of the belt. At the same time, the speed of the raw material is much slower than that of the chute sorter, plus the identification and rejection area of the belt sorter is generally 5-10 times larger than that of the chute sorter, leaving the time used by the system for identification and rejection to be expanded to 20 milliseconds - 30 milliseconds or more, from the actual test, the belt color sorter can handle raw materials with a single length of about 100mm.
The advantages of the belt colour sorter

For example, for heavy materials such as ore, you can use a perforated belt to reduce wear and tear on the belt; for peanut fruit, you can use a belt with bumps to prevent the peanut fruit from shifting too much when it is thrown into the identification area. In addition, the tracks of the belt color sorter are more convenient to clean and replace.
4、The material breakage rate of the belt color sorter machine is much lower than that of the chute machine, which is unable to handle ores, fruits, glass and other perishable materials because the mechanical design of the machine causes the material to slide very fast.
5、The belt color sorter is more suitable for combining artificial intelligence technology (deep learning algorithm), because the deep learning algorithm needs to set aside a certain amount of time for identifying materials, and the space requirement for the identification area is greater.
